Couldn’t resist sharing my idea of a perfect Sunday afternoon.
A stroll through Brill, Buckinghamshire, to the windmill overlooking a strange Teletubby landscape, without hovering too long in the winter sun we headed to our now favourite sunday lunch venue, the newly appointed POINTER.
A warm welcome and a deliscious glass of Muscadet before relishing a hearty winter roast , local vegetables the likes of which I’ve never been able to cook myself. Oh, how I love this time of year and the first sprouts of the season. Divine! So good I wanted more. The humble, much maligned perfectly formed little delicacies were a treat, Im almost embarassed to own up to loving them.
If you visit and I highly reccomend it , you should try the old classic sticky toffee pudding. So smokey it tasted like bonfire night. Scrumptious.
Thank you ,Fiona, for giving us the tip off about this very cool place and well done on the simple but cosy surrounding you have created. You breathe new life into Ercol, and about time too! When I come back I want to sip Port in a handsome winged armchair with friends.
Home to snooze on the sofa feeling very contented. A perfect Sunday.
